The December Full Moon takes place on Sunday 19 December; the Solstice follows on 22 December. Solstices occur on 20th or 21st June and 21st or 22nd December each year. During summer the day of the solstice is the longest day of the year and during winter the day of the solstice is the shortest day of the year. There are several astrological events at this time.

Following on from the Partial Lunar Eclipse of November 18-19, we have a Total Solar Eclipse on December 4th (or 5th, depending on your location). Weather permtting, this eclipse will be visible in the southern parts of Australia, South in Africa, South in South America, Pacific, Atlantic, Indian Ocean, and all of Antarctica.

The Full Moon of November 2021 is followed by a partial lunar eclipse three minutes later. Regions seeing – at least, some parts of the eclipse – Much of Europe, Much of Asia, Australia, North/West Africa, North America, South America, Pacific, Atlantic, Indian Ocean, Arctic. This Full Moon and eclipse will take place in Taurus, in the nakshatra of Krittika. The deity of Krittika is Agni, the God of Fire.

This October Full Moon is in Aries and follows on from three planets turning direct from retrograde during this week, and earlier this month. (Saturn, Jupiter and Mercury). The Sun has entered debilitation which may have us feeling somewhat flat at times, and not our usual bon-vivant sparkling personality. We commence looking at this Full Moon by noticing an oddity, the rising sign is the same for both the Birth chart and the 9th, the Navamsa. The rising sign is Pisces. In Vedic Astrology, we say “vargottama lagna”; this means there is a strong effect of Meena (Pisces), traditionally a signifier of the last things, emotion, water, and perhaps, looking both ways at matters, maybe unsettled at this time. In June 2021, two weeks after the total lunar eclipse on May 26, some locations in Russia, Greenland, and Canada will see a “ring of fire” annular solar eclipse. If the weather permits it, locations in the United States, China, Mongolia, and Northern Europe will see a partial solar eclipse. This eclipse is conjunct a combust and retrograde Mercury, and Rahu. Mars is debilitated at this time, and Saturn is retrograde.

This March Full Moon is a moon of consolation and uplifting activity, particularly for those emerging from the pandemic, and lost their employment. There are two equinoxes every year – in September and March – when the sun shines directly on the equator and the length of day and night is nearly equal. Seasons are opposite on either side of the Equator, so the equinox in March in the Southern Hemisphere is known as the autumnal equinox. In the Northern Hemisphere it is Spring time and life commences regeneration after the winter hibernation. This time of Equinox is important for several planetary movements, the end of one debilitating planetary yoga, and 5th Dimension moving us to the higher dimension for all that live on Earth.
The February Full Moon brings challenges in its wake, along with gifts from the Paramatman, the gift of light (raising of consciousness) through the work of Planet Mars. There is a call to be wary in the period before, during and after this full Moon. Nonetheless, the planets raise us up if we but seek their help and succour.
