Ashwina Adhika Purnima tells that the October Full Moon occurs within the extra month that the Vedic calendar inserts from time to time. This Adhika Masam is from September 18, 2020 to October 16, 2020 as per North Indian Calendar. This Adhika Month is dedicated to Lord Krishna. The Full Moon (Purnima) is for both Ashwina and Adhika months.
At this time of Full Moon, we find that the Ascendant is under the sway of Rahu, and Rahu is exalted in Taurus. This means Ketu is exalted in Scorpio, where Ketu is the co-owner. The Sun – the naisargika atma-karaka (second indicator of the soul) is in the 12th house and the Moon is in the 6th house, the house of hospitals, surgery, enemies and community service. We find Mars exalted and retrograde in its own sign of Aries, and in the certain part of the zodiac which we label gandanta, the impossible dream, the unsolvable problems, the Gordian knot that follows in the mind, everywhere.
Jupiter is in the third house, moving direct. Saturn has stationed (meaning Saturn is still and moving very, very slowly) and exuding power and strength from his position. Saturn aspects Moon and the rising sign Libra, which has Mercury therein.
This Full Moon has Sun in 12th house, the house of long-term containment, hospitalisations, the sanatorium, imprisonment, the holy retreat house. You get the idea of confinement, long term solitude, repair of the mind, the body, the senses. With Moon in the 6th house of the hospital, the surgery, the place of doing selfless service, it is a time of inner reflection, seeking of self-awareness and a time of stillness: the Bible tells, “Be still and know that I am God!”
Mars in gandanta section of the zodiac suggests energy constrain, solutions are elusive, frustration is rampant, and the mind is encircling the problems, the stoppages, the confinement like a shark circling its prey. The problem is, Mars is retrograde, exuding a bit more energy than normal in this place, for retrograde is stronger, “doing stronger”. It is a call for surrender, saranagathi, to the circumstances one finds themselves in, and for patience. “This too, will pass” as the sages tell.
Saturn in his own sign, mysterious Capricorn. Saturn is at 1 degree of sidereal Capricorn. Saturn has been retrograde since May 10-11 when it stationed at almost 8 degrees of sidereal Capricorn. Saturn is barely moving now so this makes his energy very focused and powerful, and perhaps some of us will feel flat or heavy with a glue like energy within that might be compared with being a couch potato. Off the couch! Move slowly with Saturn, his Gayatri mantra names him manda,, the slow one. Not the couch potato!
So Saturn is delivering an acute awareness of our situation right now; the material world, the reality of emerging from Covid-19, putting structures back into place, the slow recovery of the masses from illness, along with delay, difficulty and limits. Hard work ahead, says Saturn!
We are all born with a soul contract, and we all have significance in this world. If you are reading this, then you are a lightworker, and you are not here to hide your light under the bushels, but to let it shine from the Lord’s mountaintop, where all Universes become One. You have a task, just as Saturn and all the other planets have a task!
Their task, you ask? The planets all reflect and refract light to you according to your soul contract, your samskaras, and your past karma which you chose to burn up in this lifetime. Prarabdha karma, in any other term. Meanwhile, you are a container of light; you are like a lamp, and many other lamps can be lit from one lamp. You are here to shine your light.
And you shine your light being more disciplined, accepting, and patient so that we can go with the flow and fulfil our purpose in a more aligned and balanced way.
The Full Moon Navamsha (for those older than 48) abides in the Taurus – Scorpio axis; Sun is with Venus (not friends, not a good place for Sun) and Moon is in Scorpio where it is debilitated and conjunct the great Jupiter. They are in Anuradha – a nakshatra of Saturn and the deity is Mithra. Friendship. Meanwhile, Mars retrograde in Aries sends a whopping aspect to Jupiter and Moon as they are 8 houses away, in the house ruled by Mars. Ooh! Heavy time.
There is an upside to this, Sun and Venus are radiating spiritual energy (the energy of the 9th), in an earth sign. Sun and Venus tell, “ground yourself and take it that Divinity is everywhere “easwara sarvam idam” all over this universe, including this place of coarse, earthy experiences. “Enjoy God!”, they say.
On the other hand, Jupiter and Moon in Scorpio, doubling down on self-inquiry, inquiry into one’s circumstances, one’s past, one’s secrets. The Jupiter energy and the Moon – Presiding deity of the Mind – can give balance and sagacity to a time set aside toward exploring oneself, one’s past, the secret self – and the ritual path to self-forgiveness and self-empowerment. Once could utilise the Mars energy to really drive this and come out with a massive spring into self confidence. Consider Mars and his Gayatri Mantra …
Angara kara vidmahe
Shakti hastaya dheemahi
Tanno Bhouma prachodayat.
