The Full Moon of 15 August occurs outside the prevailing Kaala Sarp Yoga (serpent of time) bringing a sense of freedom and vitality that has been absent for some days since the chains of Kaal Sarpa began. This is a time of a dual sense of energy yet chains of responsibility are somewhat dragging on us within. It is the time of light emerging from the Central Star of our galaxy, that star known as Sagittarius A.
Chains of Responsibility:
The Full Moon of 15 August occurs outside the prevailing Kaala Sarp Yoga (serpent of time) bringing a sense of freedom and vitality that has been absent for some days since the chains of Kaal Sarpa began. This is a time of a dual sense of energy yet chains of responsibility are somewhat dragging on us within.
Kaala Sarpa (kaala=time; sarpa=serpent) Yoga occurs when all the planets are between the two shadow planets, Ketu and Rahu. While these two planets do not have bodies like other planets, they are points in our planetary domain wherein forces are exerted upon the human, particularly forces that dilute the light energy and magnetic energy within the human. In order to give one analogy, this is like the planet Uranus. Astronomers noted that gravitational force was being exerted from a region and predicted the location of a likely planet. Although Uranus is visible to the naked eye, it was long mistaken as a star because of the planet’s dimness and slow orbit.
Returning to Kaala Sarpa Yoga, there will be three periods of Kaala Sarpa during this time of Dakshinayana, when all the planets are captured between the shadow planets Rahu and Ketu – August 1 – August 12; August 27 – September 9; and September 23 – October 6.
As we mentioned, these periods are known for their chains of responsibility calling upon us, something like the rope of karma, we unable to pull free. The shadow planets are in Gemini and Sagittarius. The chains of responsibility pulling upon us depends to a large degree on what houses Gemini and Sagittarius represent in your life. For many, the effects of being chained down will be strong; for some, there will be particular challenges returning with each period until we get the issues raised right and resolve the karmic knot presented to us.
Jupiter Direct: Jupiter ceased its retrograde motion and turned direct on Sunday, August 11th and will continue in Scorpio until early November when it will move into Sagittarius. Jupiter is very powerful in the sky when it is stationary a week before and after its stationary action. So Jupiter, parama-guru, giver of the higher wisdom and intellect, is strong and grants higher access to spiritual topics at this time of full moon. Jupiter is giving the pada of the 12 house, so issues of living purusharthas, the goals of life may be fruitfully examined at this time. 75% of our time should be given over to self examination and our journey to the goal of life (12th house).
Venus Combustion: When planets are combust the Sun, they underperform and there may be a period of frustration at not achieving the desired results. However, there is an ancient medieval astrological event called cazimi, indicating that a planet is in the heart of the Sun and their highest qualities are made manifest – as if in a period of hrudaya vasi, when the munificent inner Sun of our hearts manifests energy in all its purity sans blemish.
When Venus is Cazimi, within 17 minutes of the Sun, this is a time when the negative qualities of combustion are overridden and when the highest qualities of Venus are made manifest. This cazimi time will continue on and off for the next two days. This may -for some – be a time of expressing feelings and love for others, bringing joy to children and teenagers in ways that don’t involve technology and electronics – and time for the elderly who appreciate the gifts of Venus, gentility, appreciation, being included in family news and events. These are possibilities of Venus cazimi in these days.
At this time of full moon (purnima) the Moon is in the first house, in Capricorn (Makara) in Dhanishta nakshatra. This nakshatra – ruled by Mars – is sattwic in nature (purity, serenity) and the secondary/tertiary qualities are tamas, inertia, which somewhat reflects the behaviour of Mars, who can have long periods of inactivity. Spiritual advance is often ruled by long periods of inactivity until one reaches a new plateau of detachment and discrimination – whereupon the flute of Krishna is heard, and the hollowness of the flute is the emptiness of no attachments within. In order to reach the goal, you go by the way you know not – that is, divested of attachments to the world of illusion, maya.
This Full Moon comes after Guru Purnima at which time, certain higher portals which have been closed for many eons have been reopened and accessible for those seeking participation in the Golden Age, in what is often called Ascension with the higher dimensions available and the higher capacities of the human DNA have been re-activated. The call has gone out to one and all – the offer of living in the highest state possible for the human – and the realisation of godhead within, has been given to all. There is a most auspicious event occurring which correllates this offer: It is the time of light emerging from the Central Star of our galaxy, that star known as Sagittarius A.
The supermassive black hole that lives at the center of our galaxy has been mysteriously sparkling as of late, and nobody knows the reason.
This dark behemoth, known as as Sagittarius A* (Sgr A*), is four million times as massive as the Sun. Though no light escapes its boundaries, astronomers can observe the hole’s interactions with bright stars or dust clouds that surround it.
On the night of May 13, 2019, UCLA astronomer Tuan Do and his colleagues were watching Sgr A* using the Keck Telescope on the summit of Mauna Kea in Hawai’i. In a period of just two hours, they witnessed the black hole become 75 times brighter in the near-infrared band of the light spectrum.

Moon in First House (makara) indicates that regulation, law, order, stability, strong foundations exist. It is also a place of self-absorption, focussing on appearance, bodily shape and form, personal presentation and like. This can be good, for society judges us by our appearance. However, when taken to excess, self-validation through appearance and body shape take over and may be taken to extremes if there are malefic influences. The strong foundations need to be belief in self, self confidence, self-respect, self-discipline in order to take up new energies being given out by the Central Sun of our galaxy, our Universe, and belie exposure to new information that destroys belief systems and brings about ontological shock.
Keep in mind that planets may raise us up, they may pull us down. At this time of Full Moon, we may take the energies of this full moon to shore up inner strength, inner discipline and self-respect in order to lay an excellent foundation and withstand the exposures to come. The light emerging from the Central Sun indicates change to come to Earth, particularly, change in beliefs. Hence, the needful full moon meditation.
Full Moon Meditation
Full Moons are times when strong and plentiful energy floods the Earth. This energy, directed by the Full Moon – may be taken and used for benefit. Hence, the Hierarchy offer us the choice to harness energies for planetary benefit by doing group meditation and directing energy in the form of love, light or healing, wherever there is a need. There have been many places experiencing disturbances on Earth in the past month. It has been a time of heavy rains in Zimbabwe, heavy rain and flooding, above average crashes and high-water rescues around the Las Vegas, floods and landslides hit Peru and take lives. After days of extremely heavy rain falling over Queensland, Australia this month, Flinders River has grown to a ‘mega river’ and is now 60 km (37 miles) wide in some of its parts. This is its most significant flooding in more than 50 years and so vast it creates its own weather. Pakistan’s mountainous areas received heavy snowfall in January 2019, helping the country whose fresh water is running out at an alarming rate. Tailings dam burst in the Amazon threatens the livelihood of those who survived. Over 1,000,000 people have been evacuated from the floods in South India.
The Hierarchy have advised us that the times of the Full Moon are times when energy is magnified, and multiplied. Groups sitting together in meditation on peace, harmony, goodwill towards all have a manifold affect on the energies surrounding our planet when they do this on the Full Moon day. If it is not possible to do so on the actual day, then, we have been told, the day before or the day after will also serve as days of excellence in sending out positive harmony, peace and helpful energies to all places on our Earth.
The light of God is in everything and everywhere. Let the eyes roll back in the head. Looking out above our Earth’s atmosphere to the world of Light which is Love and Compassion, experience that energy coming down through our body, through the top of our head and into our eyes, the back of our eyes, the centre of our head. Down through the torso, into the arms, our fingers, back through the torso, into the hips, the knees, the shins, the ankles, all of the feet and toes, the soles of the feet. This is like seeing the sun at the bottom of our feet. Anchor the sun into the top of our head, into our heart and into the soles of the feet and where we walk, and every step that we take, we earth the soles of the feet. The Sun that holds the new energy that’s coming on this Earth to help to raise the consciousness in everything upon the Planet so that we can raise within to receive the consciousness of the Golden Age, which is an energy which allows us to drop all the unwanted and think only in a positive and creative way.
Thanks to the Mother/Father God who guides us at all times. Through our soul, our over-soul and our body.
