Shani Ashtami

Image of Saturn, 1666Shani Ashtami is observed when Ashtami or eighth day in a lunar fortnight in the Hindu calendar falls on a Saturday. Saturday in Hinduism is called Shanivar and is dedicated to Saturn, Lord Shani. Saturn is the only planet named as an embodiment of the Divine, called Sanieswaraya (Shani+eashwara). Shani Ashtami dates in 2015 are 11 April, 22 August, 5 September and 19 December. Germanwings Crash and Self Harm

Germanwings aircraftWith the discovery of the second black box from the Germanwings flight 9525 in Digne, evidence is emerging – almost daily – that the pilot of this flight planned this event. Prosecutors have found on the pilot’s computer that he was searching for methods to undertake this act which resulted in the demise of 150 souls. We take a look to this act and to ultimate self harm in general.
