The Moon is well known as the presiding deity of the mind. It is also the presiding deity of feeling and emotion. When the mind is stilled ( the goal of self-awareness and awareness of the Atma) then there is no need to take up action, there is no need to engage in feeling and emotion. When the mind is stilled, this is the state of being. When the mind is stilled, this is the state of awareness. When the mind is stilled, this is the state of bliss. Why, then, do you get agitated and distressed at goings-on in the world? The world belongs to God, the world will be taken care of by God, even the poor, the suffering, the oppressed, the refugee and the asylum seeker. The Lord hears the cry of the poor. Seek then, inner stillness and take up nirvikaraya, that quality of the Moon which is stillness.
