The United Nations’ (UN) International Human Solidarity Day is annually held on December 20 to celebrate unity in diversity. It also aims to remind people on the importance of solidarity in working towards eradicating poverty.

The New Year
The New Year is an event that happens when a culture celebrates the end of one year and the beginning of the next year. Cultures that measure yearly calendars all have New Year celebrations. On January 1, 1600 Scotland, was the first country to adopt January 1 as the first day of the New Year. Now, many countries celebrate the New Year on that day. The Panchang, the Vedic Astrology calendar, uses a different reckoning to the Gregorian Calendar.

Summer Solstice at Uluru
December Solstice (Summer Solstice) is on Friday, 22 December 2017 at 1:57 am in Uluru. In terms of daylight, this day is 3 hours, 10 minutes longer than on June Solstice. In locations south of Equator, the longest day of the year is around this date. We look to what is indicated at this time of the Summer Solstice 2017.
