The Full Moon of 13-14 September (depending where you are) once again occurs outside the prevailing Kaala Sarp Yoga (serpent of time) bringing a sense of freedom and vitality that has been absent for some days since the cycles of Kaal Sarpa commenced.
Chains of Karma:
The Full Moon of 14 September (Southern Hemisphere) occurs outside the prevailing Kaala Sarp Yoga (serpent of time) bringing a sense of freedom and vitality that has been absent for some days since the recurring cycles of Kaal Sarpa commenced, when the only planet outside of Rahu and Ketu is the Moon. This brings a sense of freedom and vitality to the mind, which has been stuck in a rut of repetitive feelings and behaviours when Moon is among the planets sandwiched between Rahu and Ketu.
Kaala Sarpa (kaala=time; sarpa=serpent) Yoga occurs when all the planets are between the two shadow planets, Ketu and Rahu. While these two planets do not have bodies like other planets, they are points in our planetary domain wherein forces are exerted upon the human, particularly forces that dilute the light energy and magnetic energy within the human. In order to give one analogy, this is like the planet Uranus. Astronomers noted that gravitational force was being exerted from a region and predicted the location of a likely planet. Although Uranus is visible to the naked eye, it was long mistaken as a star because of the planet’s dimness and slow orbit. However, the planet was found where it was predicted to be due the forces it was exerting – and felt here on Earth. So it is with the so-called Shadow planets – Rahu and Ketu: their forces and impact are noted and experienced by individuals and particularly – by nations – here on earth.
Ketu is the Karmic reservoir, filled with energy from the past, desires, actions, attitudes, events, relationships – which are tipped over by Rahu who races with ambition to see this karmic destiny fulfilled. Rahu is the karmic dispositor, the giver of fruits of actions from the past.
Returning to Kaala Sarpa Yoga, there will be several periods of Kaala Sarpa (tail of the serpent of time) during this time of Dakshinayana (Southern path of the Sun), when all the planets are captured between the shadow planets Rahu and Ketu. These are, August 1 – August 12; August 27 – September 9; and September 23 – October 6.
It is during these periods, the mind is bound, set in its ways, unable to take up new paths, unable to break the bounds of duty, something like the rope of karma, we unable to pull free. The shadow planets are in Gemini and Sagittarius. Gemini, air sign, this is very much like the mind being free and fast, able to switch between one topic and another, yet, the presence of the karmic dispositor Rahu has us taking circular paths, unable to escape the consequences of action taken earlier. Our karma rolls out right on schedule! The mind in Gemini is trapped by the ambition of Rahu, there to see the karma is expiated. Done for, extinguished for all its worth.
Sagittarius is the fire sign. This is a deep and mysterious fire of consciousness which impels us to action we may or may not understand; Ketu, the karmic reservoir, is forever exploring the depths within, with shady, vague boundaries and attachments to the world, hence, sudden and unfathomable behaviour from time to time. For this, spiritual discipline is essential. Spiritual discipline is like a bank account, repetition of spiritual behaviour builds up strength which we can draw upon in times of challenge. We need to have this spiritual bank account to mitigate, to manage, to be on top of sudden and impulsive behaviours driven by unknown fires within us.
Jupiter Direct: Jupiter turned direct mid-August and will continue in Scorpio until early November when it will move into Sagittarius. Jupiter is very powerful in the sky when it is stationary a week before and after its stationary action. Here, Jupiter is aspected by its house lord, Mars, so will exhibit some Mars-like behaviour. The sign is Scorpio, so secrets, eruptive transformation such as rebirth experiences, visiting those of the healing faculty such as aromatherapists, acupuncture, Thought Field Therapy, kinesiology, like this, to remove deep seated hurts and pains, ancient damage to the physical and psychic bodies. These, Mars-behaving-Jupiter can give assistance and forward motivation towards. Afterwards, take time for reflection, for we are not just the body, we are not just the mind, we are not our five senses! We are so much more!!! Our bodies are surrounded by energy fields that can affect us!
Venus debilitated: Venus is in Virgo where it is debilitated. Venus is conjunct Virgo’s lord, Mercury – who is exalted here – so the debilitation is cancelled! Cancellation of debilitation sends a message of strength to all who are gender diverse, and non-binary in their self expression and self-awareness. Normally with debilitated Venus we get unbalanced sexual relationships due the expectations of the husband matching the low self-worth of the women themselves. With reversal of this position, we can expect to see more wins for the transgender, more wins for those seeking to have their birth certificates amended to the gender of their choice, or as the case may be, non-binary. In the spirit world, androgyny is common, hence the depictions of beauty of angels, archangels, devas, spirits, and genderless cherubs and seraphs. Cancellation of the debilitation of Venus conjunct hermaphrodite exalted Mercury augurs for further powerful and long-lasting advances for the LGBTIQI communities.
Mercury on its journey to exaltation in Virgo will have planetary war with Mars early in the month, then with Venus from 12 to 15 September. This is rather like friends squabbling and it is important to take the role of the observer within and not get too caught up in the squabbles between two friends.
Saturn has been conjunct Ketu for some time, and some say that this forebodes financial difficulties on a global scale. Around 18 September, Saturn will station and go direct, and the Ketu – Saturn conjunction – which has been hanging around for months dragging the chains of self-inquiry (and thus bringing boredom to many) – will part and Saturn will advance towards Capricorn. On a mundane level, the markets will continue their see-saw behaviour until there is full degree separation between Saturn and Ketu.
At this time of full moon (purnima) the Moon is in the second house, in Capricorn (Makara) in purva bhadrapada nakshatra. This nakshatra – ruled by Jupiter – is rajasic in nature (active, energetic) and the secondary/tertiary qualities are sathwic, purity – peaceful, so how can we actively, energetically pursue the truth of what it means to be human? Steadiness is the answer, the steadiness of Jupiter, treading the path toward self management and self understanding. Many say knowledge is power, and for some, this is so. Consider that self-knowledge, self-restraint, self-control and self-discipline are the real forms of power that bring about inner security and human advance. Here, the moon represents the mind; mind under strong self-control and discipline can face any issue, any eruption, any challenge. The emotions and feelings, represented by Moon are in balance in the decision making process.
This Full Moon is under aspect of many planets: ambitious Rahu gives 9th aspect; Mars and Sun give the customary 7th drishti or glance and Saturn gives the third sign aspect to Moon. One could say that all these aspects are malefic, portending bad times and sad feelings. The only benefic glance to Moon is Jupiter with the 4th or kendra relationship. Human life is time; time we march towards the goal of life, and take the energy of the planets, the dispersion of light and magnetic energy within, to give us a solid foundation and self-understanding, that we might use the planets and their light to raise us up towards that goal.
Full Moon Meditation
Full Moons are times when strong and plentiful energy floods the Earth. This energy, directed by the Full Moon – may be taken and used for benefit. Hence, the Hierarchy offer us the choice to harness energies for planetary benefit by doing group meditation and directing energy in the form of love, light or healing, wherever there is a need. In the past month we have seen the tropical cyclone Dorian destroy the Bahamas, the Southern Stratospheric Warming event above the South Pole, we have seen the protests in Hong Kong, the spread of Ebola in Africa, and the burning fires of the Amazon, the earth’s lungs. We have much we can send the energy of our monthly meditation:
The Hierarchy have advised us that the times of the Full Moon are times when energy is magnified, and multiplied. Groups sitting together in meditation on peace, harmony, goodwill towards all have a manifold affect on the energies surrounding our planet when they do this on the Full Moon day. If it is not possible to do so on the actual day, then, we have been told, the day before or the day after will also serve as days of excellence in sending out positive harmony, peace and helpful energies to all places on our Earth.
The light of God is in everything and everywhere. Let the eyes roll back in the head. Looking out above our Earth’s atmosphere to the world of Light which is Love and Compassion, experience that energy coming down through our body, through the top of our head and into our eyes, the back of our eyes, the centre of our head. Down through the torso, into the arms, our fingers, back through the torso, into the hips, the knees, the shins, the ankles, all of the feet and toes, the soles of the feet. This is like seeing the sun at the bottom of our feet. Anchor the sun into the top of our head, into our heart and into the soles of the feet and where we walk, and every step that we take, we earth the soles of the feet. The Sun that holds the new energy that’s coming on this Earth to help to raise the consciousness in everything upon the Planet so that we can raise within to receive the consciousness of the Golden Age, which is an energy which allows us to drop all the unwanted and think only in a positive and creative way.
Thanks to the Mother/Father God who guides us at all times. Through our soul, our over-soul and our body.
