While it appears there is a difficult start to 2020 with world-shaking events, eclipses and so forth, 2020 is in fact shaping up to be a positive year for many people. We look to the planets in January 2020.
Jalaram Bapa of Gujarat
Jalaram Bapa is a saint who lived in a small town of Virpur in Alandi region of Gujarat. Upon meeting his master from a previous life, he commenced namasmrana – repetition of the divine name – and engaged in ceaseless spiritual activity of feeding pilgrims and the poor. An ashram has been erected in his honour, and there are miracles associated with prayer and devotion Jalaram Bapa.
2020 Lunar Eclipse at Uluru
Eclipses come in pairs – we last had an eclipse – on Christmas Day in many places in the world – on 26 December which was very unusual for a variety of reasons. A penumbral eclipse of the Moon occurs on Saturday 11 January – at Uluru – which is the solar chakra of the Earth. At maximum eclipse, 90% of the Moon’s disc will be partially shaded by the Earth, which will cause a slight shadow gradient across the face of the Moon.

It is the (Gregorian) New Year this day (1/1/2020) and the start of a new decade. Of course other days and other new years happen with different religions – but it is generally accepted that on the 1st January 2020 it will become a New Year. It is also a leap year.

December’s Full Moon is an exalted Moon in Taurus, opposed by Sun and Mercury in Scorpio. Saturn and Venus are within degree in the next house, Sagittarius, suggesting there will trigger effects around loved ones.
A Cirrus Arc and the channelled Message
NASA circulates satellite photographs – and often images of great storms and typhoons on the Earth’s surface. A recent storm photo recalled a message channelled via Judy Carroll, by one Maris who speaks of the yin-yang balance on Earth (and miserable lack thereof) and how Mother Earth is trying to compensate with global heating by producing cold weather. Mercury Retrograde
Mercury will be retrograde from October 31st to November 20th. It will begin its retrograde motion in Scorpio and then enter Libra on November 7th. When Mercury, or any other planet for that matter, is retrograde, its energy becomes intensified. It can be compulsive, obsessive, or urgent. You can think of the retrograde phase of a planet’s transit to be like a cup overflowing.
Sai Baba of Shirdi – The Early Years
By 1910 the village of Shirdi had become slightly more prosperous, though Mrs Tarkhad, a Sai Baba devotee and regular visitor from Bombay, still found it “little more than a neglected hamlet without any lighting, sweeping or other conveniences of civilization… The streets and passages were all dark and unlit at night.” By then, Baba’s mosque had already taken on the character of a darbar (royal court), which it was to retain till the end of his mortal days.
