International Mother Earth Day provides an opportunity to raise global public awareness of the challenges to the well-being of the planet and all the life it supports. The Day also recognises a collective responsibility, as called for in the 1992 Rio Declaration, to promote harmony with nature and the Earth, to achieve a just balance among the economic, social and environmental needs of the present and future generations of humanity. This Year, International Mother Earth Day is on April 22, 2020.
In this strange covid-19 world, tens of millions of people around the world are currently in lockdown of some kind, allowed to leave the house only for essential shopping or exercise. Many are lucky enough to be living with their families, loved ones or friends, but for those who live alone, or whose relationship with their household is strained, loneliness is a very real result of social isolation.
During the first months of this year, we have seen once again how fragile is our global world, how great the danger of sliding into chaos. The COVID-19 pandemic is facing all countries with a common threat, and no country can cope with it alone.
A pink supermoon greets this time of full moon. We are in times of coronavirus, and the planets indicate restriction, lockdown, curfew, social distancing; all this. Yet, other planets deliver energy that we must learn to manage. We can do best when we chant – internally – “I am the light; I am the love, I am the truth, I AM!
On this day, in these times of Coronavirus, an important transit has occurred: Jupiter has moved from Sagittarius to Capricorn, which will have significant impact on how this virus is progressing worldwide. Jupiter is a multiplier, an expander; we will see a conjunction which will build resilience, and Jupiter will EXPAND THAT RESILIENCE.
Water and climate change: World Water Day 2020, on 22 March, is about water and climate change – and how the two are inextricably linked. There is a widespread belief that Goddess Lakshmi is associated with money, gold and richness. This is not true. True happiness and true richness on earth is for those who have mental peace. A person who is able to enjoy heaven on earth has the true blessings of Goddess Lakshmi. Mother Lakshmi should be worshipped for mental peace.
The novel coronavirus has captured attention and garnered responses – both positive and negative – around the world in every nation that is affected. Perhaps the only places not to be affected might be the Arctic and Antarctic. We look to spiritual responses to the coronavirus, and to a channelled message reminding us of the nature of the Source and human purpose and how we engage with Source energy.
Guru Tegh Bahadur is the 9th Guru of Sikhism, and was martyred by the Mughal Emperor Aurangazeb. He was son of Guru Hargobind, and was a holy and spiritually inclined person right from childhood. Originally born and name as Tyagmal, his father renamed him as ‘Tegh Bahadur’ – “the Knight of the Sword” for his bravery in battle as a 13-14 year old.
At this time of Full Moon in March 2020, the great ‘fear mongering show’ abound the Earth as some claim pandemic, others engage in panic buying of canned good and toilet paper, and so many expose the state of their minds. Whom will the coronavirus strike next? Here, the planets offer some relief, especially for those who seek peace within.
An equal world is an enabled world.
Individually, we’re all responsible for our own thoughts and actions – all day, every day.
We can actively choose to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate women’s achievements.
Collectively, each one of us can help create a gender equal world.
Let’s all be #EachforEqual.
The Full Moon for February will occur on 9 February 2020 in the Moon’s own sign of Cancer. At first impression this seems to be a comfortable, soothing scenario. Glances from other planets indicate otherwise, and tell us of the suffering experienced by individuals worldwide due disaster, viruses and pandemics.
