Shadow Planet Transits and the Human Shadow

shadow1aVedic Astrology differs from the popular western sun-sign astrology in that it not only has more to offer, but also shadow planets, known as Ketu and Rahu. These shadow planets are significators of what we cannot see within, but which emerges sporadically, that which is called the shadow self. When shadow planets change signs, the shadow self is evoked. January 2016, Jupiter and Rahu

January is really an awkward time to welcome a new year; the Hindu panchangam has us beginning a new year (samvatsara) at various markings of the Sun entering Aries. Nonetheless, we begin a new month and there are matters we should be taking notice of, particularly some important transits which only occur every 18 months. At this time, Jupiter stations and then turns retrograde. There may be issues arising for one and all. Read more

A Christmas Full Moon

The final full moon of 2015 will rise on Christmas Day this year - the first time it has occurred at the same time as the holiday since 1977. NASA forecasts the two events will not coincide again until 2034. NASA said the full moon would also be the smallest since 2004. The astronomical event is called apogee and occurs when the moon is at the farthest reach of its orbit from the Earth, nearly 407,000 kilometres away.

We have shared - via guidance given from the Cosmic Hierarchy - that the Full Moon occasions are best days for meditations for world peace, and for sending positive energy out to those in need. We look to this occasion of Full Moon to consider the astrological indications of this full Moon at Christmas.

December 2015 and Nakshatras

This month we look to the energies of the nakshatras to see where the energies are flowing and the gunas - impulses to action - flow. We all have differing balances of the gunas. Planets and nakshatras both have guna qualities as do signs and houses, so another way of taking up what Vedic Astrology has to offer. We note several planets will bring challenges to all, just as the world faces challenges and solutions at the Paris Climate Change conference. May we look to the planets for our welfare! Read more

A look inside October 2015

October is the tenth month of the year in the Gregorian calendar, coming after September and before November. It has 31 days. Its name comes from Latin oct, meaning eight, as it was the eighth month of the year in the Old Roman Calendar before January and February were added to the beginning of the year, though its name did not change. The tenth month at the time was December. We take a look at the planets for October 2015. Read more

Meditation and the Five Sheaths

As the chaotic nodes of religious fanaticism, ecosystem collapse, corporate greed and manipulation and climate change grow momentum, expand of their own accord and multiply their energetic sheaths, in these days of the Moon hemmed in by malefics, Saturn direct, Mars debilitated about to conjunct Venus by degree, and Jupiter in Leo no longer aspecting Saturn, there can be challenges. We look to offer you a simple, energy visualistion to keep you balanced in the days to come, as the subtle energies of the planets continue to flow to us. Hence the iceberg: the subtle energies of the planets touch us on levels we do not ordinarily perceive. Read more

The return of the light: Uranus and the 5th Dimension

Since the end of the Thirteen Baktun cycle in the Mayan long count, December 21, 2012, the energies of the 4th Dimension have been raised and via the stargates, the energies of the 5th Dimension (and higher) have returned to Earth. Since the Fall of Atlantis, humanity fell out of the 5th Dimension, and the stargates, the web of light around the Earth were closed; extra dimensional energies were shut off, and humanity was left to recover in 3D reality.

The outer planets of Uranus, Neptune and Pluto ceased to transmit their gravitational effects to Earth and the light energies effects were not felt within the individual human. However, when these planets changed signs or nakshatras, some energies were pronounced on a global scale, for galactic energies form part of the whole, the kalapurusha (the body of space and time). In this article we look to the return of the 5th Dimensional light, and the effects of one outer planet, Uranus. Read more

Saturn and Mars opposition

Saturn and Mars aspect one another mutually from 2nd May. Both Saturn and Mars are natural malefic planets and cannot help each other with this 7th opposition aspect. Note on Summer Solstice

Uluru Solstice

The Summer Solstice is coming on 22 December, and coming at the time when the light coming into the world - the coming of light at Christmas, the coming of light for Deepavali - Diwali, and the celebration of light at Hanukkah. Two years ago, at the time of solstice, the light grids were raised around the Earth and more light energies flowed to Earth from the Central Sun of our Universe. This solstice marks this coming of light and provides further opportunity to integrate the raising of personal and world-wide energies into the 5th Dimension. Shaneshwara in Vrishikha

Saturn and Moon

As we write, Saturn is approaching transit - peyarchi - to Vrishikha (Scorpio) and is at present sandi, within one degree of the boundary between Libra and Scorpio. Planets in such a position are regarded as depleted of energy, until they reach 1° of the sign entered. Saturn will leave exaltation in Libra to transit Scorpio fo the next two-and-a-half-years. Mundane astrology and predictions left aside, we look to the significance of Shaneshwara in Vrishikha, Lord Saturn in Scorpio. We also look to true humanness and the importance of thoughts creating your reality.

Discussion: Saturn in Scorpio

Saturn in Scorpio

A scenario has been presented describing the effects of Saturn's sojourn in the sign of Scorpio. Mars and Saturn never do well together in any sign, and it is well known that Saturn travels poorly in Scorpio, the natural 8th house which has Mars as sign lord. Many astrologers predict what they will, and some consult astrologers out of fear. Those engaged in the discussion reported below are both devotees of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, who teaches, "Why fear when I am here?". The discussion is frank, full throated and offered for your reflection.

Full Moon

This coming Full Moon on 10 August – called a ‘super moon’ on account of perigee (closest to Earth) which will occur on 10 August. As the Hierarchy – in the messages of Cosmic Sai Baba, Jalarm and Alcheringa – recommends meditation on full moon days, we offer a reflection on this coming “super moon” and the astrological significance surrounding this.

Shani Chalisa

Shani Dham Temple is located in the Indian capital of Delhi

Devotion to Gods is often in a form of a narrative of their acts, their deeds, their properties, their strengths and how their devotees are cared for. Many Gods in Hindu devotional material interact with other Gods, animals who can communicate, and humans. The Mahabharatha is the great story of the presence and actions of the Gods among men and women in the history of India which was called - and still is - Bharath. Hence, Mahabharatha, the Great Story of Bharath. Shani Chalisa records the many facets of Shani, planet Saturn in the ancient times, and also recalls the transits of Planet Saturn.

Rahu in Virgo and the Moon: path to Ascension

smoke and moon

At the end of this month (July 2014) we will see the Moon will move into Virgo joining Rahu in Virgo for the first time in eighteen years. Some suggest this is a time when we may see hysteria emerge, for Rahu - smoky shadow planet - clouds the Moon, and perhaps, ever surging towards new horizons, clouds discrimination. We look to the various dimensions of Rahu conjunct Moon in Virgo, where Rahu will remain for the next 18 months.
